The Promise

“The Promise” examines complex family relationships and issues as a daughter tries to convince her aging mother that it is time to move to an assisted living community. The play was written by Joan Anderson and Dorothy Sanders of Fort Worth, TX, and will be directed by Mike Shavel of Stratford. “The Promise” features Virginia Lity of Bridgeport, Rosanne Nelson of Fairfield, and Ann Finateri-Laist of New Haven.

During TNT's 30th Anniversary Conference held in 2002 in Arlington , Texas, there was a luncheon with readings of new short plays and sketches that had been submitted by request to TNT. One of the pieces chosen was "I WITNESS," a monologue read by Joan Anderson. It was entered in Stage THIS! Playwriting Competition sponsored by FN Productions in New York City. The monologue won and will be presented in a staged reading this year. The piece will also be published in the next volume of FN Productions book of winning plays and monologues entitled,. Stage THIS!
